They are now on the hunt to find someone to join their team who is incredibly passionate about deploying mini-grid technology throughout Africa and has the technical and project management skills to put the mini-grids together. They are looking for a resourceful Project Manager to oversee the assembly of the mini-grids before they are exported throughout Africa, ensuring that on arrival the mini-grids are ready to power up the end client’s needs. As a Project Manager, you will play a major role in formulating and executing project plans that are based on well-developed designs and quality standards, which you are responsible for overseeing. Therefore, in order to excel within this environment, you must have an Electrical Engineering degree with 3+ years’ experience project managing solar PV system installations below 100 kW’s. With that being said, the ideal candidate for this role will have a Project Management certificate which will help showcase your PM know-how and push your application to the forefront!
You will be well-versed with the various application of solar PV and how the hardware and software products play a role in producing effective yields. You will be able to grasp a firm understanding of how the company operates fairly quickly in order to show your value-add as soon as possible and grow with the firm. In addition to showing your value add in this manner, your ability to manage and negotiate with not only subcontractors but suppliers will prove vital – you must be on the ball, thinking about what is required to deliver ahead of the needs. This aspect is important as you will need to create project plans to keep all stakeholders informed regarding the progress of projects. For all of your experience in project management, you would be able to arrange and track inbound and outbound logistics with your eyes closed.
